“El bosque animado, sentirás su magia” (The Living Forest) was the first European animation feature to be produced in 3D, using CGI computer technology, and later shown in commercial movie theaters. Produced by Dygra Films, it premiered on August 3, 2001 and its screenplay is based on the namesake work by Wenceslao Fernández Flórez. Winner of two Goya Awards, it was short-listed for a Best Animation Feature Óscar®, becoming the first Spanish film to receive such recognition.
Every day the idle Mr. D’Abondo and his loyal sidekick Rosendo cross the Fraga Cecebre (The Cecebre Forest) exclaiming: ‘God help us if this entire forest doesn’t seem to be alive’. One day, men install a new neighbor: a cocky telephone post. This is where the problems begin and, if there is a single expert in problems, it is Furi, a small, friendly mole, enamored with Linda, who one day disappears along with the rest of the colony of moles in the forest. The inhabitants ultimately coalesce and bond to solve the problems of the forest and, once again, live in joy and harmony.
