Three couples from three generations, several chance encounters and a premature death combine to form the backdrop of a fishing village and allow us to examine the beliefs of a traditional Galician village. Selected for the Valladolid (Spain) SEMINICI;Panorama in November 2008.
Irene, a trucker charged with picking up seafood from a village on the Galician coast, finds herself wedged in on a bridge, blocking the passage to a cemetery on the very day the head of the Shellfish-Gatherer’s Guild is about to be buried. This upheaval causes time-worn hostilities and quarrels to surface among neighbors, upsetting the tranquility of the village.
